Meet Faye Hall, Author of Passion In The Dust & Mistress of Purity
FH: Faye Hall's passion driven, mystery filled books are set in small townships of North Queensland, Australia during the late 1800's.
Each of her novels bring something symbolically Australian to her readers, from Aboriginal herbal remedies, to certain gemstones naturally only found in this part of the world.
Each of her books tell of a passionate connection between the hero and heroine, surrounded and threatened by deceit, scandal, theft and sometimes even murder.
These romances swerve from the traditional romances as Faye aims to give her readers so much more intrigue, whilst also revealing the hidden histories of rural townships of North Queensland.
Faye finds her inspiration from the histories of not only the township she grew up in, but the many surrounding it. She also bases most of her characters on people she has met in her life.
Faye was able to live her own passion driven romance, marrying the love of her life after a whirlwind romance in 2013. Together they are raising their 9 children in a remote country town in northern Queensland, Australia.
FH: I’m an Australian by birth, and grew up not far from where all of my books are set. I love my country, and I feel that by setting my stories in Australia, I can give my readers a little part of my world. I have always loved romance, and the happily ever after that goes with love stories, but I also love a good mystery and scandal too, and that’s what I try to incorporate in my stories.
There's never really one single thing that I can pin point and say "that's why I wrote this book", other than just wondering about Australian history and wondering "what if..."
FH: Mistress of Purity
Prue is very head strong, and desperate to keep her family’s secrets hidden. She does have a vulnerable side though that readers will see as the book develops. Gareth is quite brooding, and a man who seems near desperate to uncover the truths of the past despite his initial intentions for returning to the company of Prue. He struggles with his feelings towards Prue for most of the book, having been more accustomed to indulging in the pleasures of the flesh rather than the heart too.
Passions in the Dust
Ella Matthis, the heroine, has had to face one disaster after another but never has she given up. She shows a strength that was needed by so many women who moved to Australia during the 1870’s. Seth Kenner, the hero, shows a humility and work ethic so rarely seen amongst others of his class. And he shows resilience far beyond his years.

FH: I'm currently waiting to hear back about two other scripts so I'm keeping myself busy with Lust & Chastity, my own take on one of the seven deadly sins and heavenly virtues.
