We're Three by Vivian Cameron-Gallo is charming story written for and dedicated to all of the children growing up in a single child home.
"There are many kinds of families in this great big world" and We're Three celebrates families with only one child. The book also contains pages where children can draw their own family and special things they do together.
As an only child myself, I particularly enjoyed this story. Most families are made up of more than one child and sometimes only children can feel different than their friends who have siblings. We're Three teaches children that families consist of different sizes and shapes (a family of three makes a triangle!), but what really makes a family is people who love one another.
The story is beautifully illustrated by Christina Simcic whose brightly colored artwork gives the story an added feeling of love and happiness.
