Meet J. Cafesin, Author of Reverb
Picture
Novelist. Essayist. Realist. Idealist.

Novels include Reverb; Disconnected; and the YA (young adult) series: Fractured Fairytales from the Twilight Zone. Edgy, smart, modern fiction with characters that linger long after the reads...

Essays are clear, powerful, topical, engaging, often controversial, and always have a sharp point. (Amazon)

BBB: What inspired you to become a writer?

JC:
Stories in my head since I was a kid. A lot of them start from just twisting reality a bit--like how I'd have like a conversation to go, where I'm witty and wise instead of the way it went down where I was intimidated into childish retorts or silence; events I would have liked to happen, or happened a different way. Fiction is truth twisted, after all.

BBB: How did you come up with the idea for your book, Reverb?

JC:
I wanted to fix men, have them get out of their own head and into mine.

BBB: Tell us about your main character, James Michael Whren.

JC:
James is a brilliant, beautiful, wealthy musician. To get brilliant at anything takes focus to the point of obsession, and James is focused on creating music--and unfortunately for those who want his attention, he was all too often making it with his muse. At 27, he's rich in his own right from his music, but James is also the the son of a British aristocrat, wealthy from the legacy of royalty. After leaving England at just 18 to pursue his career in music, James returns nine years later for his half-brother's funeral, and is unwittingly caught up in his father's scheme gone horribly wrong.

Thirteen months later, James escapes from an institution in Scotland, and in a round-about journey through past relationships, ends up settling on the Greek island of Corfu. But instead of finding security, peace, hiding out in his house on the hill the solitude nearly consumes him, until Elisabeth and her young son Cameron save him from himself.

Reverb is essentially a love story, James Whren's coming of age, where, after enduring indescribable torture he's physically and emotionally torn from narcissism, and he finally realizes how to truly love someone beyond himself.

BBB: What do you think readers will find most appealing about Reverb?

JC: James Whren. He's hot. Ultra talented guitarist and songwriter. Cool. Stunning. An aloof genius, following James journey through hell, then watching him emerge to become a better man--he gets even more desirable as a present and integrated partner in love.

BBB: Are you currently working on another book?

JC: Disconnected comes out in June...Ever drank too much, ate too much, indulge in excess? Ever fall for someone you knew you shouldn’t?

Disconnected is taut, smart, historical lit chronicling the coming of age for the last of the baby boomers with the displacement of classic gender roles at the end of the 20thcentury. Rachel and Lee’s tumultuous relationship is reflected in the land of perpetual sunshine imploding with rapid growth, racial tension and violence. Disconnected is an L.A. story, an addicting contemporary romance, and like the city itself embodies a very sharp edge.

Car dealers earn a lot from their business. They used to import cars from the foreign essay have countries than after importing those cars they sell them in other countries and to the people of their cities. This is the best and the easiest business to do.
