JMG: I had never written a devotional before. The Lord has leading me to write one this time, and as I was writing it, I thought about a soldier that goes out on the battlefield-and how great the fighting may get for them.
Then I thought of a soldier, sitting and reading a letter, perhaps from loved ones and how that letter can really serve as a “pick me up”, during those battles.
We have face challenges in our everyday life. We too are on the “battlefield” every day, fighting against our adversary, which is the devil, who is always trying to bring chaos and confusion in our everyday lives. I believe that the Word of God, which is in the Holy Bible, gives us the strength and encouragement to hold on to our faith, and to keep on running the race that we run every day. God has given us His Love Letters, which are the scriptures that are written in the bible. I chose to select some my most beloved scriptures as well as some short inspiring devotionals to encourage people that there is hope, no matter how impossible their situation may seem.
JMG: There are three other books that I have written: (Stone the Builders Rejected, While I Kept Silence, and Resurrection).
BBB: What do you think readers will find most appealing about your book?
JMG: Readers will discover that my writing style is very simple. It does not matter if you are 12 or 92, I write very simple truths, in a way that will inspire, motivate and encourage people in their everyday lives. I also motivate people by revealing to them that they can dare to dream big-and not to allow anyone to talk them out of their dream.
BBB: How did you come up with the idea for your book cover?
JMG: My cover is actually a photo of myself smiling, and I wanted to have that photo on the cover, because I wanted the readers to know that no matter what is going on in the world, and no matter what we have been through, that we have the right to smile.
Sometimes life can get so hard that people will even be afraid to smile when something good happens, out of fear that something bad will happen just because they had some happiness in their lives. However, I want to encourage people to smile anyway, and know that good can shine through our darkest times in life.
I have faced many challenges, trials, and tribulations in my own life, and I just wanted readers to see that I have made it, with the help of the Lord.
