Meet Barbara Miller, Author of The Adventures of Emily-Faith

What inspired you to become a children's author?
The thought had run through my mind to become a children's author for quite some time, but I never had just the perfect idea until the events of my book, The Adventures of Emily-Faith, actually happened. I have always enjoyed the creative aspect of writing ad I did a lot of it when I was a student, but that was quite a long time ago.
How did you come up with the idea for The Adventures of Emily-Faith?
The idea for my book, The Adventures of Emily-Faith, was an easy one as all the events in my book actually happened.
What do you think children will enjoy most about your book?
When children read The Adventures of Emily-Faith I hope they get a warm and positive feeling from it. I think they will enjoy the illustrations. Martin did a super job. It's a feel good story for in the end it all comes to happy ever after ending.
What advice would you give to an new author trying to get published?
I think my best advice would be to follow your dream, whatever that may be. I ended up self-publishing my book so my dream of holding my book in my hand could come true. I have a great sense of accomplishment which only adds to my excitement over becoming, not only a published author but a publisher as well. Take your idea add some imagination and anyone can write a story.
Are you currently working on any other books?
I'd love to make my book, The Adventures of Emily-Faith, the first in a series of adventures that my dog has had. Thankfully, running away has not been one of them again!
