Title: Let it Snow
Author: Ann Simas
Genre: Christmas Romance
Number of Pages: 229
Publisher: Magic Moon Press
Publication Date: October 28, 2016
Summary:
The weather outside is frightful...

But inside Micah Barrow’s house, it’s just delightful.

Sylvie French has been hired by Micah’s family to decorate his house for Christmas. It’s a surprise for the returning Marine, recovering from a harrowing battle in which three of his friends were killed.

Micah doesn’t like surprises, or being woken up out of a dead sleep to Christmas music blasting through his house. All he wants is be left alone. He doesn’t need a knock-out Christmas decorator spouting holiday cheer, either, and really, did she have to fall off the ladder just because he yelled at her? His first day home and he not only has to take Sylvie to the ER, but now he’s on a guilt trip to help her finish decorating the tree. And what’s with Mother Nature dumping 36” of snow while they work?

Micah’s been without a woman for too long, but Sylvie’s appeal goes beyond that. He’s never believed in love at first sight, but too bad for him—in his family, that’s the way the genetic dice rolls. Sylvie’s had only one serious relationship, which ended in betrayal. Sure, she likes Micah, and man, can he kiss, but their relationship is missing something. Something important.

Micah doesn’t get why Sylvie shies away.

Can Sylvie unravel the problem herself in time to spend Christmases-ever-after with the man of her dreams?

About the Author

Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. She has been an avid reader since childhood and penned her first fiction “book” in high school. She particularly likes to write mystery-thriller-suspense with a love story and paranormal or supernatural elements.

She has written three novels that were Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Finalists: Chloe’s Spirit, First Star, and Blessed Are the Eagles. Magic Moon Press publishes Ann’s books, all of which are available as ebooks exclusively at Amazon, where they are also enrolled in the Kindle Unlimited Lending Library. Paperbacks are available directly from the author’s website (free shipping within the U.S.) and from Amazon (free shipping there with Prime). They are also available in the Amazon CreateSpace Store.

Ann served on the Romance Writers of America Board of Directors for two years and co-founded the Heart of Oregon Chapter RWA, where she served as President, Conference Chair, and Public Relations Chair. She has edited eight professional-organization newsletters (receiving Best-of Awards for two of them) and written articles for numerous magazines and newspapers. She also was Publications Director at a nonprofit research institute at the University of Oregon.

An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family’s “genealogist” and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from decade’s old documents in Italian, she says, has been a supreme but gratifying challenge.

My Review

Let it Snow is a magical Christmas romance about overcoming obstacles and opening your heart to true love.

Sylvie is a decorator hired by Micah's family to spruce up his house for the holidays as a welcome home surprise, but it's actually Sylvie that gets the surprise when Micah suddenly appears from the bedroom. Micah's a military veteran and suffers from PTSD so Sylvie's presence sends him into survival mode and he inadvertently injures her. Once fully awake, Micah realizes Sylvie needs medical attention and takes her to the emergency room then for pizza where the pair feel an intense connection. Wanting to finish decorating and gather her supplies, Sylvie and Micah return to his home only to be snowed in...for days. Their relationship begins to blossom, but something is holding Sylvie back. Can she figure out what it is before she loses Micah?

Let it Snow is a beautiful romance that will melt your heart, even on the coldest winter night. The author has a definite gift for spinning captivating stories and it's easy to lose yourself in the pages. The characters are well developed and likable. I felt an instant connection with Sylvie and Micah and longed for them to overcome the issues holding back their happily ever after. I found it difficult to put the book down and am hoping there will be more in the series.

I highly recommend picking up a copy.
