Wolf Queen Part 2 of the Everlasting Night Series
~Written By Scott Alexander Baker
Picture
Wolf Queen by Scott Alexander Baker is the second book in the exhilarating Everlasting Night Series. The thrilling excitement continues as a new creature of the night joins Alexander and his quest to defeat the evil Lord Dartan.

Clara is an unpopular high school senior with few friends and the longing desire to buy a car so she can avoid the students who torment her on the bus. Just like every other day this summer, Clara was hard at work in the stables shoveling manure and hauling hay for the wealthy owners. As she daydreams of spending her summer poolside as many of her classmates do, she is instructed to report to the main house immediately. Clara begrudgingly heads to the main house, knowing she'll have more work to do tomorrow. What happens next catapults Clara into the remarkable underworld of werewolves and vampires. At first Clara tries to fight her destiny as the High Queen, but soon realizes her position is far too important to be taken lightly. She must gather forces to ensure the survival of all werewolves as well as to create a lasting bond between all of the creatures of the night. Clara is joined by Dartan's enemy, Alexander and several other vampires that vow to aid in her mission. Will Clara prove she is worthy to be the most powerful werewolf or will she fail miserably allowing Lord Dartan to carry out his sinister plan to control them all?

Wolf Queen is a tantalizing thrill ride with so many twists it will leave your head spinning.

I recommend picking up a copy of Wolf Queen, the captivating sequel to A Bite is Forever.

Lily's Little Life Lessons Book 3
Featuring Only Lily & Lily Learns

~Written By Rebecca Perlman Coniglio
~Illustrated By Jen Mundy
Picture
Lily's Little Life Lessons Book 3 by Rebecca Perlman Coniglio features two stories Only Lily and Lily Learns. Adorable Lily teaches young readers important lessons about some of the challenges children face in their young lives. The rhyming text and vibrant illustrations engage readers and give them comfort as Lily confronts her struggles and learns to overcome them.

In Only Lily, Lily asks her mom "why she didn't want baby number two or three?" Lily's mom begins to explain all the special things they get to do together like getting manicures, dancing, and just having fun. She also tells Lily that "All my love is for you. I don't have to divide my heart in two. That is a lovely thing to do, but mine beats only for you." Lily also learns that she doesn't have to feel blue because she has many friends that can come and play and no little brother to get in the way.

As an only child myself, Only Lily holds a special place in my heart. As a child I had many of the same questions as Lily. The story addresses these concerns and leaves Lily feeling happy and loved instead of lonely.

In Lily Learns Lily is starting school and is feeling afraid as she is faced with the unknown expectations in her new surroundings. Lily wonders if her teacher will be nice and how things will go with the other children in her class. Lily becomes sad and misses her mom, but just as she is about to give up on the "school thing" something unexpected happens to brighten Lily's day. Soon Lily is enjoying school and all the exciting activities she is discovering.

Lily Learns teaches young readers to believe in themselves and try new things even if they seem hard in the beginning. Overcoming challenges makes children feel good about themselves just as Lily does.

I highly recommend picking up Lily's Little Life Lessons Book 3 and if you haven't read Book 1 and Book 2 pick up copies of them as well. Lily has a lot to teach children about life.

My Laundry Museum & Other Messy Gifts of Motherhood
~Written by Jill Fales
Picture
My Laundry Museum & Other Messy Gifts of Motherhood is a collection of humorous, touching, and inspiring stories of motherhood originating from author Jill Fales' column Mom's Voice in the Newport Beach Independent.
Picture
As a mother of 4 myself I found that I identified with 99% of the stories that make up this unique and delightful book. Recently my oldest son started high school and reading the story The First Day of School was like reading a page from my own diary. It brought tears to my eyes as the emotions I experienced on my son's first day flooded back. It brought me comfort to realize so many other moms share in my feelings of wanting to hold on to that little boy or girl, but knowing it's best to let go and allow them to experience what life has to offer.

A Farewell to Roller Coasters made me laugh even more so as two years ago I was at Knott's Berry Farm and on the exact same roller coaster with my boys who thought I was so much braver than dad for accompanying them. After the ride I too realized my roller coaster days were coming to an end and that dad had the right idea when he choose to be a spectator.

I found inspiration in A Birthday Party Trumps Everything as Jill Fales' son looks beyond a boy's disability and sees a friend. The story proves that all it takes is one person to make a difference.

My Laundry Museum & Other Messy Gifts of Motherhood by Jill Fales is filled with stories like the ones I shared above. Her stories bring joy and celebrate the, never dull but always rewarding, life of a mother.

I recommend picking up a copy and sharing it with all the moms you know.
