Peter and the Whimper-Whineys
Written by Sherrill Cannon
Illustrated by Kalpart
Peter and the Whimper-Whineys by Sherrill Cannon uses lively rhyming text to communicate to children that whining and crying are unpleasant behaviors that no one wants to be around. Children also learn that when they don't whine the day is brighter for everyone including themselves.

"In a house in the forest all covered with vines, lived a very small rabbit who did nothing but whine." Peter's mother tells him that he mustn't whine or the Whimper-Whineys will take him away to a place where he can whine and cry all day. Unaffected Peter goes right on whining. Finally, his mother sends him to his room where her predictions come true and Peter is visited by the Whimper-Whineys. Will Peter learn not to whine or will he live forever in the land of Whimper-Whineys?

Sherrill Cannon is an accomplished author with a gift for rhyme. Peter and the Whimper-Whineys is a story to cherish and the lesson it instills is timeless.

Ivan Becomes a Hero
Written by Linda Rossetti Brocato
Illustrated by Donna Brooks
Ivan Becomes a Hero by Linda Rossetti Brocato is an uplifting story with a heartfelt message for children and adults alike.

Ivan is a curious baby giraffe who decides to venture outside his usual surroundings. On his exploration Ivan meets other animals, but instead of being friendly they make fun of Ivan for not being like them. Ivan is heartbroken and asks his mom why he can't be like the other animals. She reminds Ivan that he is "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14) and that God made him just as he is for a reason. Will Ivan discover God's special purpose for him?

Illustrator Donna Brooks shows off her incredible talent through the brilliant colors and exquisite detail. I fell in love with Ivan the minute I saw him on the cover.

Ivan Becomes a Hero instills the powerful lesson in young readers that we are all special in our own way and each of us is here for a purpose.

Don't forget to look for the hidden hearts throughout the story.

Chocrotes and the World Without Question Review

Chocrotes and the World Without Question
Written by Steve Berkowitz
Edited by Laurie Berkowitz
Illustrated by Bjorn Minde
Chocrotes and the World Without Question by Steve Berkowitz is a thought-provoking story that instills the importance of standing up for what you believe in instead of  letting others decide for you.

A young rooster is born in a time when a ruler, King Doodle Doo is in power. King Doodle Doo forbids any chickens or roosters from asking questions. The young rooster is very inquisitive and can barely contain himself. His parents decide to name him Chocrotes after a great chicken philosopher who taught chickens to question everything. As Chocrotes grows he can no longer hide his inquisitiveness and is soon banished from the Kingdom of the Chickens. However, banishment cannot stop a curious chicken.

Read Chocrotes and the World Without Question and find out what Chocrotes has planned for King Doodle Doo and the Kingdom of the Chickens.

I enjoyed Chocrotes and the World Without Question. I found the chicken names comical, but the lessons learned are significant. And above all if you want to know something ask questions!
