Nicolas Copernicus rocked the world in 1543 with his realization that the earth was not the center of the universe. The discovery was especially startling because his pronouncement shattered beliefs, beliefs long held by institutions and individuals the world over. Flower Dog Man can have that same impact as the latest instrument to sever fiction from fact for a desperate global audience; one who simply wants peace.

In only 6207 words, Kirk cracks the theological code while bringing the airy notions of spirituality to the readers proverbial door-step. It really is possible to change a person’s life in 45 minutes; and how fitting for a generation hooked on instant gratification. Flower Dog Man leads us on an inspiring journey and gives us the tools for facing the hellish hurdles of the moment to planting our very own Garden of Eden.

There will be thousands of books published this year, but none will have the lasting, genuine affect as Flower Dog Man. If the perpetrators at Sandy Hook, Las Vegas, Parkland, Columbine, Charleston, and Orlando had read and understood the principles of Flower Dog Man, hundreds of people would not have died by their gunfire. If Ratko Mladic, Adolph Hitler, and Bashar al- Assad had read and understood the principles of Flower Dog Man, millions would have been spared their genocide. If Chris Brown, Charlie Sheen, and OJ Simpson had read and understood the principles of Flower Dog Man, their spouses would not have borne the brunt of their domestic violence. If Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, and Hillary Clinton had read and understood the principles of Flower Dog Man, their public profiles would be greatly toned down from the weight of their tremendous egos.

The message of Flower Dog Man is already changing lives. Here’s what other are saying:

•"This might just be the best most enlightening read I've read in 63 years"- Phil B Nashville

•Your testimony is great and should be heard or read by many. In my opinion, you are right on target!"- Dr Roy Nicks, former President of East Tennessee State University and Chancellor of the Tennessee Board of Regents

•“24 hours after your presentation and we are still glowing”- Laura George– Director of the Oracle Institute

•“I love your messages and life lessons. I am a recovering alcoholic and this spiritual way of looking at life is a gift for me”- follower on Facebook

•“What a great revelation…All ages need to grasp”

•“Kirk, you are a God send”- Member,

• Mercy Triune Mission, Greenville, SC

•“Kirk your profound message has given us all something to think about”- Associate Pastor- Mercy Triune Mission, Greenville, SC

•“You came through as if taught by the Holy Spirit”

Far, far away from the noise and squabble of talk radio, internet blogs, reality tv, and sensational headline news, Flower Dog Man is the new message for the world; and it’s truly a message of peace.

About the Author

From his college days selling Bibles door-to-door to software consulting throughout the country, Kirk has tried to do it all. He’s worked on oil rigs, been a stockbroker, driven 18 wheelers, fathered twin boys, been awarded by President Ronald Reagan, owned his own business, and created Travel Tapes. He has worked overseas and been to every major city in America. Despite the excitement that goes with such an eclectic and independent life journey, Kirk has seen his share of personal frustration and disappointment resulting in a near death experience in 1997. The gift of a friend would help turn his life around and begin a recovery that is nothing less than remarkable. Kirk shares his insight and the lessons learned in his The Awareness Series, which is comprised of two children’s books- Thinking Like Jesus and Norman’s Names, and now Flower Dog Man.

When he’s not on the road, Kirk loves being home in Southwest Virginia with his wonderful wife Tina and their dogs Bear and Saban.

Here's what reviewers had to say...

"The text flows beautifully and is full of humorous puns, alliteration, and onomatopoeia, while the accompanying watercolor illustrations by Diane Cojocaru are simply gorgeous." - Books Direct

"Sweet, rhyming and wise words make it a delightful and fun read. I read it to my son who enjoyed it. Catalina and the King’s Wall is a good bedtime read." - Eloquent Articulation

"Although this is a cute fairy tale, it also is a gentle way to open up a discussion with children about how they view people of different races." - Bookworm for Kids

"The colorful illustrations in Catalina and the King’s Wall were vibrant and interesting along with this symbolic story of walls." - Writer, Reader, Cautious Adventurer

"Colorful illustrations. Entertaining. A story young kids can relate to with icing, sprinkles, and cookie dough." - Kay LaLone - I Love Books

"Patty Costello has come up with a cute story for kids. From small Children to about the age of 8 would enjoy this story. The words used are easy to semi easy so would be great for young readers. Diane Cojocaru has done an awesome job with illustrations. They are vibrant and bright and very engaging to the kids." - T’s Stuff

"The story itself was adorable and it was filled with cute pictures that were perfectly geared toward an audience of young children. The words of the story were well chosen so that young children could both read and understand them. I would recommend this book to any young child" - Books for Books

"Catalina and the King’s Wall teaches that gluttony is not a good thing and how to be creative and think out of the box. The illustrations by Diane Cojocaru are colorful and will keep the attention of children." - Bound 4 Escape

"The book is great to use to teach young readers about kindness, compassion, creativity and problem-solving. It also urges older readers to reflect upon current events like tightened border controls and tensions between countries. It encourages us to learn to embrace the differences across cultures and nations instead of trying to build an indestructible wall that stands in the way of communication and conflict resolution. It's an entertaining and thought-provoking book that's worth reading over and over again with the kids." - Ice Fairy’s Treasure

"The illustrations, done by Diane Cojocaru, were very bright and colorful and done very well.. The "busy" images and colors will capture the attention of toddlers and early elementary. This will surely delight little ones during story hours (...)" - Rockin’ Book Reviews

"The pictures were bright and colourful, creating a book that children will enjoy. The story was fun too. Overall it’s an entertaining and well put together picture book." - Stitch Says

My Review

Picture
Catalina and the King's Wall is a charming tale complete with beautifully detailed watercolor illustrations that will captivate readers.

Catalina loves to bake and her delicious treats delight the King. One day when Catalina is delivering her goodies she overhears the King's plan to build a wall between his kingdom and the next. Devastated that she would be unable to see her parents Catalina comes up with a plan, but will it work?

Although most children won't make the connection on their own, the story addresses current US events in a gentle non-threatening way. I believe young readers will find humor in Catalina's antics to outsmart the King and the King's overindulgence of sweets. Children will easily understand the story's message about the importance of family and delight in Catalina's reunion with hers.

Catalina and the King's Wall is well written with amazing illustrations that bring the book to life.

I recommend picking up a copy.

Two brothers. Two best friends. One robbery gone wrong.

With a court date looming, a near-fatal car accident, and a house invasion, the four surviving witnesses to an armed robbery know they are targets. In a desperate attempt to stay safe, they take matters into their own hands and go off the grid a week before the trial.

Danny St. John was stuck in a dark place of guilt and regret after a personal tragedy. On the run from violent criminals, he is forced to spend time with the one woman who makes him feel too much. Victoria Lopez needs to protect her heart, but she also misses the guy Danny used to be and thinks she might be able to bring him back. Now, evading gunmen together in Sequoia National Forest, Vic will risk everything to keep Danny safe.

Eric St. John isn’t a big fan of his sister-in-law-to-be, Zoe Turner. Sure, she’s beautiful, but also bossy and brash. When Eric and Zoe are forced to rely on each other for survival, he sees a side to Zoe he never anticipated, a side he definitely likes. But as the two grow closer, so do the men hunting them down.

Time nearly runs out as each couple must not only brave the perils of the wilderness and their growing feelings for each other, but also outwit their pursuers in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Excerpt

He’d intentionally traveled away from the stream, so it took time to cut back for water, but if the strategy kept them safe then it was worth the extra time it cost. “I hear it,” Danny said of the rushing water. “Should be right through those trees there.”

He plowed ahead, concentrated on the idea of quenching his thirst and refilling and purifying the water bottles.

“Danny.” Vic’s voice didn’t sound her usual confident self. In fact, she sounded freaked out and--

The distinct rattle stopped him in his tracks and his breath rushed out of his lungs in a single whoosh as he turned and saw the snake. If the brown and gray scales hadn’t given it away, certainly the sound did. Somehow a giant rattlesnake planted itself between them on the narrow path. It slowly reared its head back while its tail rattled a warning. Vic’s eyes widened in paralyzing fear.

“Danny,” she whispered with both plea and panic.

“Stay still. It’s okay.” Frantically, he looked for a stick. Something to whisk the slithery beast far away, but nothing but pebbles and leaves surrounded him. The fucking thing slid closer to Vic, its tongue slithering out, tail rattling and head up ready to strike.

Danny did the only thing he could do. He kicked dirt behind the thing to get its attention. It spun and struck before he even blinked. Shit! He jumped back, felt the contact at his ankle. The fabric tugged as its fangs stuck on his jeans. “Shit! Shit!” Danny tried to shake the beast off and the reptile waved in the air like thick rope.

The Flames of Florence by Donna Russo Morin Excerpt, Blog Tour and Giveaway

Historical Thriller
Date Published: May 8, 2018
Publisher: Diversion Books

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

"A glittering Renaissance gem of a novel. Donna Russo Morin, a master of her craft, has penned an intricate story full of lush historical detail with a plot that will leave you breathless." —Tasha Alexander, New York Times bestselling author of Death in St. Petersburg

In her final standalone novel featuring Da Vinci's Disciples, Donna Russo Morin delivers a thrilling story of the secret female artists of Florence, under the tutelage of Leonardo Da Vinci, and their heroic, potentially deadly efforts to save great works of art from the infamous Bonfire of the Vanities.

"Illicit plots, mysterious paintings, and Leonardo da Vinci all have their part to play in this delicious, heart-pounding work." —Kate Quinn, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Alice Network

Lorenzo de Medici is dead, and his son Piero has brought war and famine upon the city of Florence. Yet, the glory that is Renaissance artistry grows more magnificent, as does the work of the women known as Da Vinci's Disciples. Now they face their most dangerous challenge, one shrouded in the cloak of a monk.

From the ashes of war, Friar Girolamo Savonarola rises. Some call him a savior and a prophet, a man willing to overthrow tyrannical rulers and corrupt clergy, the Borgia Pope among them. Fra Girolamo is determined to remold Florence from an avaricious, secular culture to a paragon of Christian virtues.

Many call Savonarola a delusional heretic, incapable of anything but self-serving fanaticism. When he sets out to destroy all secular art forms, Da Vinci's Disciples call him an enemy … but not all of them.

"Like a glorious Italian fresco-richly textured and vividly portrayed … Highly recommended for lovers of history, art, and courageous women." —Anna Lee Huber, bestselling author of the Lady Darby Mysteries

"Donna Russo Morin renders one of the most tumultuous periods in Florence's history in bright colors and with vivid descriptions. This tale of a group of determined women standing up for what they believe in … will absolutely resonate with modern readers." —Alyssa Palombo, author of The Most Beautiful Woman in Florence

About the Author

Donna Russo Morin’s passion for the written word began when she was a child, took on a feminist edge as she grew through the sixties, and blossomed into a distinctive style of action-filled historical fiction at a defining moment in her life. As a second-generation American of full Italian descent, Donna combined her historical research with her genealogical studies, finding that her birth name (Russo) and her family roots are traceable to ninth century Florence…the very city in which the Da Vinci’s Disciples trilogy is set.

Donna Russo (Morin) is the internationally published author of six multi-award-winning historical novels including PORTRAIT OF A CONSPIRACY: Da Vinci’s Disciples Book One (a finalist in Foreword Reviews BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR), and THE COMPETITION: Da Vinci’s Disciples Book Two (EDITOR’S CHOICE, Historical Novel Society Review). The final book in her Da Vinci’s Disciples trilogy, THE FLAMES OF FLORENCE, releases May 8, 2018. Also this summer, my novel, inspired by our own home state, GILDED SUMMERS: A Novel of Newport’s Gilded Age will also release this summer. Her other titles include The King’s Agent, recipient of a starred review in Publishers Weekly, The Courtier’s Secret, The Secret of the Glass, and To Serve a King.

A 25-year professional editor/story consultant, her work spans more than 40 manuscripts.  She holds a BA in Communications and an A.A. in English Literature.  Donna teaches writing courses at her state’s most prestigious adult learning center, online for Writer’s Digest University, and has presented at national and academic conferences for over ten years.  In addition to her writing, Donna has worked as a model and an actor with appearances in Showtime’s Brotherhood and Martin Scorsese’s The Departed. Currently under contract to a consortium of international producers, Donna has added screenwriting to her professional acumen.

Her sons—Devon, an opera singer; and Dylan, a chef—are still, and always will be, her greatest works.

THE FLAMES OF FLORENCE: DA VINCI'S DISCIPLES BOOK THREE
Chapter One

"The world is never still;
It moves forward whether we wish it to or not.”
Their faces had changed. Time had marched across some, leaving its tracks. New faces had sprouted like the first crocuses of spring. Yet whatever form they took, they stood by each other as life spun its web
around them.
They stood in the sun now, free of the shadows, with its warmth fluttering down upon their shoulders. She had been one of the first, one of the founders, a tender, delicate bloom of wisdom. She had been with them at the other funeral, that of the man whose life had made the transformation in theirs possible. The man who had changed all of Florence, planting seeds of it, reveling in their blossoms, and sharing their glory with the world. He had known the importance of art, had tended to it the way it needed to flourish, as they had flourished.
Together, they had survived as Florence had survived: barely. The Medicis, doomed since the death of Lorenzo “Il Magnifico” de’ Medici, had been ousted. War had weakened Florence’s trunk as well as her branches. And strangeness had descended upon them in the form of a tonsured, cloaked figure, a shadow whose length grew ever longer, all encompassing.
Hope born on audacity and raised on bravery had changed them. As they watched their dearest friend lowered into the ground where her ashes would live forever, they knew they too would remain eternal; they would be, now and forever…Da Vinci’s Disciples.
Isabetta and Gianetta walked to the mercato as they did most days. Both understood the depth of kindness Andreano and Mattea had shown them, taking them in as they had done. For Gianetta, her cousin’s kindness went far deeper, for he accepted his role as her guardian without hesitation. They returned such kindness, though in a small manner, by making for the markets early each morning, to buy the freshest fruit and vegetables the farmers delivered to the city. As a widow, Isabetta walked about as she pleased, no chaperone necessary, nor a veil upon her head. Gianetta, a young unmarried woman, could never be seen out of doors without her veil, not a terrible hardship with its embroidered lace sprinkledminutely by small jewels.
“I hope there is some fresh lamb,” Gianetta chirped. “We havenot been able to find any in quite some time.”
“That would be nice,” Isabetta agreed.
Both women struggled to speak of inconsequential things. Life had been far too full of serious conversations; at times, the mind needed the triviality of life for it to feel real.
“And perhaps—ahia!” Gianetta’s scream pierced the still morning air.
Isabetta spun, seeing the three boys—all robed in white—rushing away from them, one holding Gianetta’s veil in her hand—strands and roots of her hair still within the teeth of itsc omb—having yanked it from her head. With swiftness of foot, Isabetta caught up to them, ran before them, and stopped.
“May we help you, signora?” the oldest of the three, perhaps as old as twelve or thirteen, asked of her.
Her lip curled as she fell on them hard.
“How dare you!” she spat at them.
The boys looked the very portrait of innocent incomprehension.
“We do nothing more than our job.”
“Your job?” Isabetta’s head rocked back and forth as she scoffed at them. “It is your job to accost young women?”
“No, signora,” another replied, a golden haired child no more than ten. “We are to remove all…all…” his eyes rolled up in hishead as he searched for the words, “…all vain glories from the
streets of Florence.”
“Vain glories? What nonsense is this?”
“As I said, signora,” the first spoke again, taking a step toward her. If he hoped it would make her take a step back, he was disappointed.
“We do our job. Nothing more and nothing less.”
“And this is what your master tells you to do?”
The boy puffed up his chest. “Sì, signora.”
Isabetta longed to slap the smirk from his face. Instead, she leaned over and leaned down, her head only inches from the oldest.
“Tell your master, Isabetta Fioravanti believes he is deranged and dangerous.”
The boy twitched beneath his pristine robe, his agitation and anger longing for release. His hands fisted by his side as his eyes narrowed to slits.
“Go on, boy,” Isabetta goaded, “if you dare. Look in my eye and ask yourself if I could not slap you raw.” She held up a hand. “No, not could I, but would I?”
Their gazes locked together in battle, neither giving way.
“Come,” the smallest of the boys pulled upon his cohort.
“    Come, Alberto.”
Alberto, as he was, began to step away, stepping backward from them.
“Grazie, signora,” he bowed to Isabetta, “for the gift of your name.”
He need not say more, nor did she.
Only when they were out of sight did Isabetta return to
Gianetta’s side, examining her head, finding pinpricks of blood on her scalp.
“Do you feel well enough for the mercato?” Isabetta asked of her.
Gianetta nodded her stinging head, covered it as best she could with her small lace handkerchief retrieved from her waist purse, and they began to walk once more.
“You act rashly,” Gianetta chastised her.
“That man is a rash,” Isabetta responded, “and I believe we have just caught it.”
Gianetta grabbed her arm. “You and I?”
Isabetta shook her head. “No. Florence.”

About the Book

Picture
Title: Stellar
Author: Kevin Hollingsworth
Genre: Poetry
Number of Pages: 140
Publication Date: February 18, 2018
Summary: "Stellar" is an interesting as well as compelling book of prose poetry that encompasses the wonderment of love. Further, stories of romance, love, and tragedy are told creatively through the eyes of 107 poems. In "Stellar" one will have a chance to go on an odyssey of figurative language, and will also get a refreshing sense of the human condition that we all need, and yearn for love. In "Stellar" one will also have a unique opportunity to view emotionalism seemingly painted by the masters. In reality, however, these poetic words of distinction cannot fit on a canvas, but are to be read on paper, and enjoyed by you and your imagination. About the Author I have been a dreamer since I was born in N.Y.C. My dreams started September 20, 1968. I moved to Los Angeles, California when I was very young. I received my education in Los Angeles, and joined the workforce a couple of years after graduating college. I did not start writing poetry until later in life. Friends, and family really enjoyed the beautiful words I shared with them from my poems. So, I continued to write, and published my first prose poetry book "Wonders" in 2009. I published my second book of prose "Romance with A Touch of Love"" in 2011. The dreams kept coming; and I continued to be inspired to write beautiful words. I am honored to share these beautiful words with the world in "Stellar"...

Author/Poet, Kevin Hollingsworth has two published works of prose poetry, "Wonders" and "Romance With A Touch of Love" and coming Fall 2017 a new compilation of 106 poems titled; "Stellar."

Although born a "Dreamer," writing came later in Kevin's life, just for fun in his spare time. He received positive feedback on his writing from friends, acquaintances and family. He continued to write in his free time because he enjoyed it and he liked putting smiles on people's faces and love in their hearts.

Not an uncommon reaction after someone read a humble literary creation of his poetry. As simple as it sounds, Kevin guesses people will never know they may have an aptitude for something unless they try it. We all are born with gifts and seeds for above.

If Kevin's writing can bring a sparkle of joy, or happiness to someone's life; if his writing can touch people in a meaningful way, then he knows at least he can feel good that he has done something right in his life and legacy.

A graduate of UCLA with a BA in Psychology, Kevin resides in Los Angeles and when not writing he enjoys salsa dancing.

A story of love and determination in the face of adversity that will steal your heart.

Twelve-year-old Mary longs to have a horse of her own, but she's limited to reading horse books. A talented artist, she spends her days on a blanket in the grass sketching the horses at the farm next door. She falls in love with one of the foals and is outraged to learn the filly is considered worthless as it was born lame.

Mary befriends and enlists the help of twelve-year-old Laura, whose family owns the horse farm. Against the better judgment of the farm manager, a brief reprieve is negotiated for the foal's life. The girls conspire to raise money to save her, but time is running out. Sadly, it appears the expensive surgery the foal needs has little chance to correct the problem anyway. Mary isn't about to let her own disability hold her back. She sacrifices what she holds dear - the trust of her papa, to gain her heart's desire. But she could lose everything in her struggle to save the foal.

They're stalking a horse trapped in wire and Selah is its only hope. But the mare she rescues might be a bigger challenge to her dream than not having a horse at all. When an old friend of Grandpa's and a world renowned horse trainer offers to work with the wild and defiant mare, Selah jumps at the opportunity. She trains with a fierce determination to equal the equestrian talent of the deceased grandmother who instilled the love of horses in her. Fittingly, it once belonged to the same wise grandmother who introduced me to the love of reading via Walter Farley's horse books. That desk has secret compartments which hold memories, mysteries, and story ideas.

In Sleep State Interrupt, a giant media corporation has taken over the Internet, created an addictive virtual reality called BetterWorld, and controls nearly all information. Politicians do their bidding and a brainwashed humanity serves a privileged few.

Waylee Freid, an unemployed Baltimore journalist with ever-worsening bipolar disorder, is the only hope for a brighter future. She and her countercultural friends bust a notorious teenage hacker out of jail and sneak into a closed presidential fundraiser at the Smithsonian castle, where they hope to record incriminating admissions that will wake up the world. Hunted by Homeland Security, Waylee and her friends must reach a sufficient audience by broadcasting their video during the Super Bowl. But to do so, they'll have to break into one of the most secure facilities ever built.

A Taste of Revenge narrates the enthralling story of a successful businesswoman, twenty-nine-year-old Maria Mercedes Sofia Castrillón, and her journey to avenge what she has lost.  She is the Chief Executive Officer of MG Grand Business & Co., a company that she founded ten years ago, together with her friend, Ana Elisa Gaston.

Lucio Nieves is her lover of more than four years. He is the heir of G&N Company, being the Chairman’s son. An acquisition is made between the two companies, entailing that MG Grand is to make an exclusive anti-virus software for G&N. A hundred computers are tested; however, days after the deal, a report came that G&N wants to terminate the contract.

Ana accuses Sofia as being the one in charge of the fiasco, as well as the one who placed the malware into the PCs in order to ruin the reputation of the company, and she brings forth a flash drive as evidence to prove that Sofia indeed is the mastermind. Sofia defends herself, but after several arguments, Ana pushes persistently and says to Sofia that she had never really been her friend, right at that moment the bond they had built for years vanished in an instant. Board Chairman, Michael Perez, suggests that the board of directors make the decision on whether Sofia should remain in her position as MG Grand’s CEO. The majority of the committee then decided to remove Sofia from her position and reduce her to only receiving dividends as a stakeholder of the company. Ana’s conniving act becomes clear to Sofia and realize that this had been her plan all along, and so, Sofia’s journey of revenge starts here.
