Santa's Birthday Gift
~Written by Sherrill Cannon
~Illustrated by Kalpart Team

Santa's Birthday Gift by Sherrill Cannon is an endearing story that helps children understand how Santa fits in with the Christmas celebration of Jesus' birth.
Picture
The story begins "in the small town of Bethlehem, long, long ago" where Mary gave birth to a baby whom she wrapped in swaddling clothes. High up in the sky a bright star filled the sky and lead the way for Kings and shepherds. But, far away in the North Pole an Angel named Santa Claus also saw the light and knew that God's child had been born. Santa was a toy maker and enjoyed making toys for all the children. Tonight he wanted to bring a special gift to the holy Child. Santa "traveled a long way, then ran out of snow, and wasn't sure how he'd be able to go. So he offered a prayer and he looked to the sky and suddenly his reindeer were able to fly!" What special offering will Santa have for the tiny baby laying in a manger?

Children will be inspired by Santa's heartwarming and selfless gift. They will also enjoy the delightful illustrations that visually reinforce the message within the story.

Santa's Birthday Gift is a touching story that is sure to become a Christmas tradition. I recommend picking up a copy which is available at www.amazon.com.

Caarina the Cooking Fairy
~Written by Julia Dweck
~Illustrated by Gemini
Picture
Caarina the Cooking Fairy by Julia Dweck is the tantalizing adventure of a magically talented cooking fairy named Caarina, who must overcome the humorous antics of one mischievously sour gremlin in order to prepare a mouth-watering feast.
Picture
"Caarina lives among the cooks that write the recipes in books." One day the Fairy Queen announces that a special feast is to take place and will be prepared by the decadent fairy, Caarina.

Caarina is simmering with excitement and eagerly seeks out the most flavorsome dishes for the Fairy Queen, but each one of her creations turns out to be a culinary disaster.

Picture
Caarina just doesn't understand what could be going wrong with all of her delectable delights. But lurking in the shadows a nasty little gremlin is sabotaging all of her recipes. Will Caarina discover what he's up to before it's too late?

Caarina the Cooking Fairy is one of my favorite concoctions cooked up by author Julia Dweck. Her rhyming play on words makes the story enticing to readers young and old.

The brilliant illustrations by Gemini divinely capture the alluring Caarina as well as the comical mischief of the sneaky gremlin.

I highly recommend picking up a copy of Caarina the Cooking Fairy. You will not be disappointed.

Available on Amazon Kindle.

The Story of the Knock-On Wood Shamrocks
~Written and Illustrated by Lynn Darby
Picture
The Story of the Knock-On Wood Shamrocks by Lynn Darby teaches children about the age old tradition of "knocking on wood" in a very creative and entertaining way, but something more magical is about to be discovered as well.
Picture
Deep in the woods live the DarbO'Lander Elves who spend most of their time bringing joy to mankind. However, one day while they are out collecting food they stumble across an enchanted tree. The tree's trunk  resembles a large fist and a sparkling aura surrounds the the leaves. Immediately they are intrigued by their discovery, but believe it's best to keep the tree a secret until they can figure out what to do.

Picture
Finally, coming up with a plan, but vowing not to damage the tree, the elves decide to cut it open and find out what's inside. This proves to be a very delicate task and the elves take great care to ensure the tree will continue to thrive. After their diligent work the tree is opened up. The elves are very nervous about looking inside, but decide they have come to far to give up now. They climb their ladder made of cherry stems and are astonished and amazed by what they see.

Lynn Darby beautifully illustrates this enchanting and intriguing tale. Her diagrams of the elves' ingenious plan to open the tree captures her keen imagination.

The story instills in young readers that unique ideas lie within them eager to emerge and that it's important for them to allow their ideas to flow so they can make a difference in the world.

I recommend picking up a copy which is available in two versions, one for children 9-12 and one for Pre-K. Each book includes a Wooden Shamrock that glows in the dark after it's held under a light source, a Blanket Cloud with velcro backing, and a satin ribbon Tree of Life Bookmark with charm.
