Billy and Suzy are brilliant children, so much so that the 12-year-old friends are already in high school. Billy is a quantum physics genius and Suzy specializes in DNA. Together they create a magic wand that yields more power than they could have ever imagined. Of course, "with great power, comes great responsibility" as well as great danger. There are those who will stop at nothing to posses the almighty magic wand Billy and Suzy have created. Can Billy figure out whose trying to deceive him before it's too late?
I loved all the science and knowledge floating around this story, although I have to admit at times I felt inferior to Billy and Suzy's vast array of scientific knowledge. I enjoyed when Billy taught the school bullies a lesson by exposing their faults and pointing out how it feels to be picked on. I also liked Billy's crazy mom, who ends up knowing more than anyone thinks.
I found the plot to be fascinating and well thought out. It was both humorous and intense at times making the story absolutely consuming. Billy Bobble Makes a Magic Wand is a great read. Perfect for middle graders. I highly recommend picking up a copy.
