Broken Angel is a mystery... When Lenore's former fiance shows up on Sabal Palm Island to campaign for the senate, and Marlene's ex-husband admits he knows secrets about her sister, Sea Turtle Beach, Florida heats up fast! Broken Angel is about family bonds... It's about family love, despite quarrels, lies, secrets and deceit. And Broken Angel is about hope... Because true love leads to forgiveness and the possibility for a brighter tomorrow.
Marlene Wagner is utterly devastated by the sudden death of her younger sister. She's certain it wasn't an accident and she's also certain the people she should be able to trust are lying to her. Determined to find out the truth behind Lenore's death, Marlene searches for clues, only to end up with more questions than answers. She also discovers a great deal about herself and a lot of it isn't very pleasant. Will she ever be able to overcome her past and learn to forgive herself and others? Will the truth behind her sister's death be brought to light? And, will Marlene find love again?
Broken Angel is a mesmerizing tale and Marlene is a complicated character that undergoes a dramatic transformation after the loss of her sister. I love that the story begins as a mystery, but ends as something much deeper. Marlene's realization that she wasted so much of her life being bitter and as a result missed out on experiencing genuine relationships is heartbreaking. It also serves as a reminder for readers never to take the ones we love for granted. I thought the author did a fantastic job creating an all around great read that I found difficult to put down.
