My Reviews

Magelica's Voyage

Picture
Magelica's Voyage by Louise Courey Nadeau is a beautifully written enchanting tale filled with alluring adventure.

Magelica is a young girl, who hatched from a brilliant sapphire egg. She was given the name Magelica because her birth was magic and she had an angelic face and lovely wings. Magelica also had a silver feather, which she learns contains magic. Whisked away in the night by a warblegrif, Magelica sets out on an fascinating adventure in search of the Isle of Dreams. She is told the island can be found on a turtle's back. The turtle needs Magelica's help to overcome his great sadness, but unable to see the  magic contained within herself Magelica is unsure she can help.

Queen Raya's words of wisdom, "you are what you make of yourself," not only help Magelica realize that life's true magic is in her heart, but teach children that the same is true for them as well.

The story is magnificently illustrated, from the winsome depiction of Magelica to the creative Isle of Dreams, the authors gifted imagination is prevalent on every page.

I found Magelica's Voyage to be a charming story with a very special message for all. I highly recommend picking up a copy.

The Rescue

Picture
In Magelica's Voyage: The Rescue the magic continues when Magelica has an enlightening dream about Prince Will and Goldy. She knows she must summon the power of the magic feather and relay her dream to Will's mother, Queen Raya. After Magelica bravely retells her dream Queen Raya determines that Will is stranded on the Isle of Darkness. But, with Will gone the Isle of Dreams has been somber and the Turtle isn't moving. Can Magelica help the Turtle find happiness and rescue Prince Will?

The Rescue is a delightfully charming tale full of exciting adventure and heartwarming fun. I love the vibrant and creative characters that fill the pages and entice readers. The encouraging words throughout the tale inspire readers to never give up and to find joy in life. I adore the colorful and alluring illustrations which only add to the magic.

I highly recommend picking up a copy of The Rescue. It's certain to become a fast favorite for parents and children alike.
