Summary
A simple tale of love and friendship to warm your heart. Award-winning author and designer Shaila Abdullah teams up with her 10-year-old daughter Aanyah to bring you this heartwarming tale of a little girl who forms a close bond with a child with cerebral palsy. My Review
My Friend Suhana: A Story of Friendship and Cerebral Palsy is a loving story that introduces young readers to children with special needs and teaches them that patience, understanding, and compassion can develop into a beautiful friendship.
Suhana has cerebral palsy so her abilities differ from other children. The narrator of the story is a little girl who befriends Suhana and takes the time to learn Suhana's unique way of communicating and how to read her moods. Suhana recognizes the kindness of her new friend and a very special bond is formed.
This story touched my heart, my husband has a cousin, John, who has cerebral palsy and the closeness shared by the girls in the story reminds me of the connection my husband has with his cousin. John has taught all of us about acceptance and love and even though he struggles with day to day things his zest for life is evident in the amazing smile on his face.
I congratulate the authors on sharing their story which enlightens others and shows how a little kindness can blossom into something incredible.
My Friend Shauna: A Story of Friendship and Cerebral Palsy is a must read and should be shared with all the little ones in your life.
