Synopsis: A thought-provoking tale of the journey of a royal palm born on a tiny island surrounded by mysterious waters. This tender story explores the world of someone wrapped up in herself. Protected by her cousins, the short plain palms, the royal palm grew up beautiful, but very self-centered. Dreaming about life outside the island, she did not bother with her friends, who lived as one big family. Immersed in her own beauty, she only cared for herself, until one day a hurricane struck the tiny island. Then the royal p alm discovered the true meaning of family and real friendship. Inspiring story with valuable lessons to be learned and shared.
My Review

On a secluded island a lovely royal palm grew, however she was self absorbed and rude. She shunned her cousin palms and was impolite to any creature who dared to climb upon her palms. Thinking she was too good to be bothered by others, she spent her time alone admiring her own beauty.
When a violent storm rocks her island home the royal palm becomes weak and tattered in the wind. Her shallow roots struggle to hang on. Alone and scared she is on the verge of giving up...
Mrs. D. has created another incredible story that enlightens and inspires. I love the message the story conveys about being kind to others and how life is meant to be shared with others. The amazing illustrations are vibrant and engaging and readers will be drawn into the world that comes alive on each page.
