Timothy and the Man in the Moon
~Written & Illustrated by Julia E. Antoine

Seven-year-old Timothy Peppin was excited about his upcoming birthday. He’d been waiting for this day it seemed like forever. He was turning eight in a couple of days, and ever since he was five, he had been asking his parents to take him to the Moon. They had repeatedly told him he was too young, but now that he was turning eight, he believed he was old enough to make the trip. He had no knowledge of what was involved, but his parents were able to do 'most anything, so he was counting the minutes until the great day—the day he turned eight—the day he may finally get to go to the Moon.
What little boy hasn't dreamed of travelling to the moon? Well, Timothy is no different. Timothy admires the moon and he longs to meet the man and the dog who live there. With his 8th birthday approaching he is certain his parents will let him go to the moon. Timothy's excitement gets the better of him and he is unable to sleep as he thinks about the moon and his upcoming birthday. School becomes a struggle for him because he spends too much time daydreaming about the moon and he even ends up with detention. Finally, the long awaited day arrives and Timothy celebrates with friends and family. Will his parents finally take him to the moon or give him an even better gift?
Timothy and the Man in the Moon encourages children to focus on their dreams, but also teaches them that it takes patience and determination to make those dreams come true. Timothy's parents play an important role in inspiring him to work hard and overcome challenges he faces with school and friendships.
