In When I Grow Up I Want To Be...a Teacher! Carlee explores all the things she can be when she grows up. And, since her mom started teaching at her school, which is totally embarrassing, Carlee knows she definitely doesn't want to be a teacher, or does she?
There are so many aspects of this book that make it a great read. Carlee, for one, is typical of children her age. It's bad enough to have your parents hanging around or talking to you in front of your friends, but when one of them takes a job teaching at your school, now that's just too much. What children fail to realize is that they are usually insecure or ashamed for no reason. Carlee learns this lesson when her friends tell her what a fun teacher her mom is. Carlee also discovers that all of the possibilities available to her when she is grown are taught to her by a teacher. This shows her just how important her mom's job actually is. The book also has pictures and information of people from history that excelled in areas like science, art, music, math, etc.
I found, When I Grow Up I Want To Be...a Teacher! to be a well organized easy read that is perfect for young children. I highly recommend picking up a copy and helping your child discover what they want to be when they grow up. Available on Amazon.
