Writing My Heart Out by Teera de Fonseka
I want to encourage people to do everything that they can with their talents, to live up to their potential and to trust in God’s plan for them.
As we excited out the back of the house, the familiar scent of salty wind brushed quickly against my face. Past the fence surrounding the backyard you could still see the water and the overturned boats along the shore. The three of us made small talk. After a few minutes, Sirimathi began to feel more comfortable and asked, “Why haven’t you kept in touch with us?”
I was stunned by the question. Words of rage bubbled up inside of me. “Well, after everything that had happened.” I said.
Before I let myself go on, I chose to stop. She wasn’t worth it. And my anger would have accomplished nothing. Besides, so long as I take the higher road, she can’t touch me. Sirimathi and I stared blankly at each other as the conversation trailed off.
